Happy Sunday All. This is a reminder to KEEP PRAYING! Whatever or whoever you’ve been praying about – don’t stop! If you haven’t been praying, I encourage you to start now. It will be worth it. Today in church my pastor preached about speaking to the dry bones in our lives (read Ezekiel 37: 1 – 10 for reference). See, tests and trials will come our way often, and some of these situations may seem impossible to make it through. But instead of giving up, running away or questioning God, we should keep speaking power over that situation. Prophesy to it. Now when my pastor told us to prophesy, I will be honest and tell you that I was like “I have the gift of prophesy!?” But while I am still growing in my faith and knowledge of the Bible, what I do know for sure is that there is power in our words.
Jesus replied “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. Matthew 21:21-22
When we believe and put our faith in God, we can be confident that He will handle whatever the situation is. He just needs us to trust Him. He has made promises to us, and if we believe that He will keep his word, we should be able to speak to those dry-bones in our lives and tell them what God told us. Maybe you’ve already prayed about a situation and it doesn’t seem like things are getting any better – keep praying. Try again. When God told Ezekiel to speak life into to the dry bones, the bones did not have breath again right away. God told Ezekiel to speak again, this time to the winds around the bones, and Ezekiel trusted and obeyed God. When he spoke again, then breath entered into the bones.
Don’t you stop praying about whatever it is you’re going through. Don’t stop praying for that person or people who need your covering. Even if you can’t see change happening, change IS happening. If God gave you a vision or whispered something to your spirit, do not give up on it. Some promises take time to manifest. It may look completely dark from where you’re sitting, but you have to believe that God can see further than you can. Trust that He is moving in ways you would have never expected. He will work it out, but don’t you give up on it!
One last thing my pastor talked about that spoke to my spirit was to also speak to the winds around the bones. I haven’t quite figured out what the winds are in respect to my own situation, but o when I do I’m going to pray hard about those, too. The winds – from my understanding – are the circumstances surrounding the situation. If I had a sassy sister who wouldn’t surrender her life to Christ, but was at the club faithfully for example, in addition to praying for her salvation, I might also pray that the club won’t let her in or that when she does get to the club, she gets no pleasure from being there (please excuse my lack of a better example lol). So whatever the situation, also try praying for the other factors affecting the situation as well.
Today is day 5 of the 31- Day Pray for Them challenge, and I pray that you’ve been having some really amazing talks with God about the person you’re praying for. I know I have. I also pray that His power is starting to be revealed in that persons life. I will be back to check in again soon, but I just had to share what I received from today’s word. It was confirmation that we are on the right track with this 31 days (and beyond) of prayer.
